St Vincents Mercy Group, Melbourne

Impact along with Emergency Medical Solutions (a company owned by friends and colleagues Ian Knox and Gavan Doig who had worked with Impact on previous projects and had now set up their own business.) was commissioned by the St Vincents /Mercy group to examine emergency medicine options for either campus. There had been a recent amalgamation of both church groups and they were involved in long term strategic planning. The hospitals were concerned re long term market share in emergency medicine and had had frequent approaches from the VMO’s re getting into this market.

The project involved:

  • Site visits
  • An extensive interview process with all the key hospital users
  • Interviews with staff from all sections of both hospitals.
  • Analysis of the hospitals casemix
  • Projections of the Emergency market and casemix.
  • Analysis of site options
  • Suggestions and advice

This was a very complex project with two previous competing hospitals AND medical groups now expected to align. The content of the extensive report is obviously confidential.
