Greenslopes private hospital is a long established major private hospital in the city on the Southside. The hospital is large with over 500 beds comprehensive with CCU, ICU and cardiac surgical units. It is the major veteran’s hospital for Queensland. It is owned by Ramsay Healthcare a for- profit listed company.
Ramsay has operated the facility for many years and has contracted out the emergency unit to a company Pintle Pty Ltd operated by Dr Murray Byrne who manages the unit and contracts all the doctors. Impact Healthcare owns the majority shareholding in a company E.m2 Pty Ltd which has the contract to Pintle to provide specialist FACEM advisory services to Greenslopes for education and quality assurance etc.
The contract between Greenslopes and Pintle ceased in October 2003.
